Allergy Unit
Centro Coromina’s Allergy Unit is led by Dr. Alfons Malet, who has extensive experience in diagnostic and therapeutic techniques for allergic diseases.
In the Allergy Unit, allergological studies of all allergic pathologies are carried out: both pediatric and for adults. We have the appropriate diagnostic allergens for the study of respiratory allergy (Rhinoconjunctivitis, Bronchial Asthma…), food allergy, drug allergy, insect allergy (hymenoptera bites), and skin allergy (hives, angioedema, contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis…).
In order to analyze the different allergic pathologies, the corresponding diagnostic tests are performed:
Diagnostic tests
- Skin tests with specific allergens.
- Blood tests and mucous secretion tests.
- Mucosal challenge tests (conjunctival and nasal tests).
- Epicutaneous tests
- Spirometry and bronchodilation test
- Methacholine or bronchial hyperresponsiveness test.
- Measurement of Exhaled Nitric Oxide.
